We’ve Got the Answers You’re Looking For

Your health journey should always be easy to navigate.

To access a letter sent to your patient portal, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your patient portal.
  2. Click “My Health” on the left-hand side of the portal.
  3. Click “Medical Forms” at the top of the page.
  4. Look for the section labeled “Signed Documents From Your Providers.” You’ll see blue hyperlinks listed underneath this section, with the most recent letters appearing at the top.

Prescription & Insurance Approval

  • After deciding on injectable Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT) with your provider, your prescription will be sent to the pharmacy.
  • Insurance may require prior authorization, which we’ll help you with.
  • Wait for your pharmacy to confirm your medication is ready before scheduling an injection teaching appointment. Bring your medication to the session.

Injection Teaching Appointment

  • Call us to schedule your teaching session with a nurse once your medication is ready.

Learning Injections

  • A nurse will guide you step by step, answering any questions.
  • Most people are ready to continue at home after 2–3 sessions, but we’ll work at your pace.

  • Ask your pharmacy to send a refill request electronically or via fax.
  • Use the patient portal (if available).
  • Call our clinic’s dedicated refill line.

Please submit refill requests 3–5 business days before your medication runs out to allow time for processing and provider approval. Note that some medications may require extra time, and a provider might request an appointment for additional refills.

Yes, Open Door Health accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare.

What if I don’t have insurance or can’t afford care?
If you’re uninsured or have concerns about payments, please speak with our staff. We are committed to helping you access the care you need and will work with you to explore available options.
